Report: CEO: RDIF to apply for approval of Sputnik V in EU in Feb

MOSCOW, Jan 14 (PRIME) -- Russia will apply for approval of its anti-coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V in the European Union in February, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev said in an interview with Reuters on Thursday.

“Russia will send a formal application for approval of the Sputnik V anti-coronavirus vaccine to the E.U. next month,” he said, adding that it is still unclear if the European regulator approves the product.

Dmitriev also said that approvals by the regulators of nine states are expected in January and that the vaccine was earlier registered in Argentine, Bolivia, Serbia and other countries.

The Sputnik V will be produced in seven states, he also said.
